• McIntyre named new LPEA Customer Service Representative

    Cooperative enhances services with addition of experienced staff member

    Julie McIntyreTo further enhance member care at La Plata Electric Association (LPEA), Julie McIntyre has been selected as a new Customer Service Representative. Based at LPEA’s headquarters in Bodo Industrial Park, Durango, McIntyre works with LPEA customers on billing issues, new accounts and the cooperative’s various products and services. 

    McIntyre comes to LPEA after serving with La Plata County for three years in Recording and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Born and raised in Iowa, she served as a medic in the U.S. Army, which took her to Fort Carson, Colo., and she went on to serve the public sector for 23 years in Public Safety Communications in Fountain and then Longmont, Colo. She and her husband moved to Bayfield in 2012.

    “Anybody you talk to says LPEA is the place to work,” said McIntyre. “You hear nothing but good things, and I’ve found everything that everybody has said to be so true.”

    LPEA, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative established in 1939, provides to its more than 30,000 members, with nearly 42,000 meters, safe, reliable electricity at the lowest reasonable cost, while being environmentally responsible.
